Metaxia’s Journey of Resilience and Skincare

This October, as we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lira Clinical is honored to highlight Metaxia Dalikas - not only as a survivor and co-founder of Lira Clinical, but as a mentor and source of inspiration for us all.

When asked how surviving breast cancer shaped her outlook, Metaxia spoke with quiet strength: “Life is a gift, and you take advantage of it every day. Working with Lira Clinical has been a therapy for me, keeping me busy and positive. Each day I can show up is a blessing.” Her words carried gratitude and resilience, setting the tone for a story that blends healing with purpose.

For Metaxia, skincare became essential during her treatment. Her skin changed; dehydrated, sensitive, and pigmented, and Lira’s products “went on that journey” with her. More than vanity, skincare became comfort and survival, a daily reminder of strength. That personal experience now shapes our company’s philosophy: protecting skin with sunscreen, harnessing the healing power of Mastiha, and supporting others walking through diagnosis. “I want to show them you can live through it, and thrive.”

Co-Founding this business at 54, then facing breast cancer, could have stopped her in her tracks, but instead, she kept going. “Illness doesn’t mean you stop. A strong support system is everything. I surround myself with people who remind me to keep going.” Her story is one of resilience and faith, proving that it’s never too late to dream, create, and grow. Above all, Metaxia believes skincare and life itself is timeless. “At any age, you can begin again and continue learning.”
